A Silent Meditation & Sacred Music Retreat
Date: Saturday Dec 21 @ 9am to Sunday 22 @ 3pm
Option to arrive Friday Dec 20 evening "Occasionally, we need to pause - and step away from the hustle and bustle of modern life. One way to do this is to get away from our daily life and go on retreat. Far more than a vacation, a retreat offers us time to ourselves to rest, heal, reflect, and renew our spirit...." ~ Read more from DAILY OM
Join us for a meditation retreat where you can enjoy time away during the winter solstice, a time of the year charged with good energy and holiday cheer. You will have the opportunity to practice meditation in an ideal setting that is spacious and surrounded by nature. Whether you just need some quiet time during the holiday season, or whether you are going through life changes, this retreat may be just right. You will come out feeling lighter and more inspired to live in harmony with your values and life purpose.
I will guide the retreat with an approach to meditation that is flexible and gentle. Rather than following a strict program within a particular tradition, I will introduce you to diverse practices such as mindfulness, conscious breathing, gentle yoga, qigong, and mindful walks in nature. There will be some instruction on the different types of meditation but you will be encouraged to find your own and continue with minimal guidance. Therefore, some meditation experience is required to participate in the retreat. Also, as an integral part of the week-end, I will add the perfect blend of music to balance the silence. You will experience the joy of sacred chanting and the peacefulness of soft guitar playing that will enrich your meditation practice. There will be personal time for resting, journaling, and taking walks in the trails through the forest. The retreat is in silence meaning there will be no socializing among each other once the program begins. There will however be time for group discussion and for questions. You are asked to bring your own food such as light snacks (no cooking available) or you may even do a fast of your choice during the week-end. Testimonials
"What a profound experience the retreat turned out to be for me. It really ingrained in me some good habits on mindfulness and helped me reconnect on a deeper level to the Source. Most importantly, it reminded me of my spirituality and I have really enjoyed incorporating all of the tools I learned into my life each day since I've been back." - Devan "The profound stillness, the silence, the soulful energy, the teachings about the chakras, the beautiful chanting and mantras we did ... it all felt like a coming home to me.... MJ Ganesh you are an amazing guide to lead the way. Your gentleness, your kindness and your generosity in sharing your own journey was a gift to us all. Your music and your words are comforting and healing, everybody should experience your gifted talent." - Marta L'arc-en-Ciel
